Justice for Mimi the Pit Bull
Last week our local news had a story of a pit bull, Mimi, who was burned alive. A woman poured gasoline on her and set her on fire because she was angry with her ex-boyfriend. It wasn't even his dog. Mimi belonged to his brother who kept him at his house. And to make matters worse, I just found out yesterday in a follow-up story that Mimi was giving birth when this was done to her. The woman responsible has not been arrested or prosecuted, though the dog's owner filed charges and had a witness. I, for one, am outraged by this. And if you are too, I hope you will sign this online petition to help get Mimi and her babies some justice.
There has been an online petition started for Mimi in hopes of getting the local authorities to take action again her murderer. I hope you all will join in the crusade for justice by taking a few minutes to sign this petition.

I seriously hope they get this woman. I'm just sick to death of our area's good ol' boy attitude of "it's just a dog." What happens the next time this woman gets angry at someone and they don't have a pet she can douse in gasoline and set on fire? What if they only have a child available for her to take out her anger on?
I'm not sure if this petition will do much good, but I figure it can't hurt to try. Thanks for helping in any way you can.
